HIRING:

  • Steel Bender Brewyard, a family owned brewery in Los Ranchos de Albuquerque, is looking for qualified, quality-focused applicants for a Warehouse/Packaging Technician to join our growing production team. This is a part-time, hourly position, available immediately with the potential of becoming full-time. We are a growing production brewing facility, with a busy taproom with an increasing focus on packaged beer for distribution.

    Reports to: Head Brewer and Assistant Head Brewer

    Job Description:

    The Warehouse/Packaging Technician is responsible for building orders for distribution, and packaging quality beer in a timely manner following established procedures to meet the production goals of the brewery. The person in this role will be responsible for warehouse and packaging operations to produce a variety of beer styles whilst following company process, quality and safety standards.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Safely and efficiently build pallet orders for distribution and taproom

    • Undertake finished product handling (forklift and pallet jack operation for warehousing)

    • Forklift operation for loading and unloading trucks (freight and distributor pickups, as well as taproom delivery)

    • Ability to exercise First In First Out inventory management techniques

    • Safely and efficiently conduct packaging operations

    • Keg washing and filling as needed

    • Assist with draft system maintenance at the tap room

    • Participate in basic brewery equipment maintenance as needed

    • Perform cleaning procedures on relative equipment to ensure sanitary conditions in the brewery, and the production of beer free of contamination

    • Participate in, and assist as necessary, with quality control procedures to ensure production of high-quality beer.

    • Maintain a safe work environment and participate regularly in safety training

    • Utilize Slack, 7Shifts and other designated group communication tools to facilitate efficient communication across the entire production team and wider organization

    Physical Requirements:

    Full mobility and physical capability to safely and effectively work in a brewery, including:

    • Standing up to 9 hours per shift

    • Stooping, bending, crouching, reaching

    • Adept handling of small parts and all equipment necessary to the job

    • Lifting up to 55 pounds to shoulder height repetitively

    • Use of pallet jack to move pallets of kegs and cases of beer

    • Use of a hand truck to move cases and kegs of beer in small spaces

    • Working in often hot / wet / cold / humid conditions

    • Ability to walk up and down stairs throughout shift

    • Ability to work Monday, Wednesday and Friday

    Qualifications:

    • 1 year experience in a small- to mid-sized craft brewery and/or warehouse preferred

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

    • Ability to think critically and solve problems

    • Objective-oriented, focused, individual who needs little direction or supervision

    • Ability to manage multiple tasks to work efficiently

    • Ability to use Google Workspace applications

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    • Flexibility in schedule to work early and late shifts and weekends as required

    • A focus on quality, safety and efficient use of time and materials is critical

    Compensation:

    • Dependent on experience

    • 90-day probationary period
